Strain gages are devices to allow for deformation measurement (strain) of an object. The metallic foil backing will receive a suitable adhesive to make sure they hit-and-stay on the surface. Thus, with their sensitivity to strain, any movement is detected causing their electrical resistance to change. Therefore, it is possible to measure very precise movement of expansion, elongation and / or retraction. Lab Integration carries a variety of strain gages in inventory.
